A summer program for young people aged 10 to 18, focused on developing resilience and self-awareness.
Growing up is a process full of discoveries, but also of challenges and intense emotions. With greater autonomy come new demands—at school, in relationships, and in how they see themselves—that are not always easy to manage.
It's natural for doubts, insecurities, and moments of greater instability to arise as each young person tries to understand who they are and their place in the world. Therefore, gaining tools to understand what they feel and how to deal with their surroundings can make all the difference, bringing more confidence, balance, and well-being to this phase!
This program aims to use school holidays to develop essential socio-emotional skills, useful now and throughout life. It is designed for young people aged 10 to 18, with groups organized by age (10–13 and 14–18), respecting the pace and needs of each stage.

Dates and times for the Mindfulness Course
The mindfulness course includes 4 sessions on the following dates: June 16, 18, 23, and 25, 2026. Participation is for 4 sessions of 2,5 hours each on the indicated dates.
Open Hours: Ages 14 to 18, 15:30 PM - 17:00 PM
Open Hours: Ages 10 to 13: 17:30 PM - 19:00 PM.

The course takes place at the Portuguese Youth Institute, in Parque das Nações.
Program
Throughout the program, participants explore mindfulness practices tailored to their age group, combined with dynamic activities that encourage reflection, self-awareness, and emotional well-being.
Stop, breathe, and be present — this is the starting point of mindfulness, a practice that invites us to pay attention to the present moment, to what is happening inside and outside of us, with curiosity and openness. With ancient roots and extensively studied over the last few decades, it has demonstrated important benefits for well-being and emotional balance.
Throughout the program, young people explore mindfulness practices adapted to their age, combined with dynamic activities that encourage reflection, self-awareness, and a greater connection with themselves.
The sessions take place in a safe and welcoming environment, where there is room for pause, movement, and sharing, always at each participant's own pace. No prior experience is necessary—just curiosity to get started.
Skills developed:
- Learn to practice mindfulness and apply this practice to daily life.
- Learning to recognize and express emotions and feelings and developing emotional self-regulation.
- Finding a new way to cope with pressure, stress, and anxiety.
- To gain a broader perspective on situations and make more conscious choices.
Languages
The instructors in the Mindfulness Course in Lisbon are able to communicate with participants in both Portuguese and English. Furthermore, many of the participating children are able to help if communication problems arise, because they speak other languages and collaborate in translating and clarifying doubts.

Leading this program is Susana Rocha, a certified Mindfulness teacher with experience dedicated to the socio-emotional development of children and young people. With training from leading international organizations and over 18 years of personal practice, she combines technical knowledge with a close and empathetic approach.
As the founder of the Educar Emoções project, she has been leading courses, workshops, and regular classes focused on emotional well-being, resilience, and personal growth, creating a safe, structured, and trusting environment for all participants.
