The summer camp begins on Sunday. Reception takes place on Sunday, March 29th, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and the farewell party takes place on Thursday, April 2nd, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.

The monitors are prepared to communicate with participants in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, ensuring successful integration for all children, regardless of their native language. Furthermore, many of the children participating in the camp also speak other languages ​​and are always available to help with translation and answer questions, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.

Accommodation at the Holiday Camp in Sintra

Sintra Summer Camp participants stay at Casa da Praia Grande, located in Sintra Natural Park. With stunning sea views and just a few meters from Praia Grande, this location offers the ideal setting for days full of energy and fun.

The outdoor space is vast and includes a soccer field, surrounded by 23.000 square meters of green space—the perfect environment for the little ones' adventures.

Inside, the house is equipped with bedrooms, changing rooms, a dining room, a multipurpose room, and a training room, providing all the conditions for playing, resting, and learning.

The dormitories, with a capacity of between 2 and 8 bunk beds, are organized according to the age and gender of the participants, ensuring comfort and good coexistence.

Food

All meals are included at the Sintra Summer Camp (breakfast, dinner, lunch, and snack). Some activities also include a mid-morning snack and supper before bed.

The menu is prepared with high-quality, nutritious foods, promoting a healthy and balanced diet. The organization is attentive to allergies and intolerances, adapting meals as necessary. Whenever possible, it uses national and local products, supporting more sustainable practices.

Transportation

Transportation is not included. However, the organization offers an optional one-way transfer service from Lisbon (location to be confirmed), at a cost of €60 per participant, per week.

Support at the Holiday Camp in Sintra

The Easter summer camp counselors in Sintra are mostly responsible, fun-loving university students who are committed to providing participants with a great experience. Roda Viva ensures that everyone receives training to ensure the quality, safety, and smooth running of the activities.

Each monitor accompanies between 6 and 10 participants, depending on their age, and each group has a coordinator. There is always a director or general coordinator present on the field.

Additional information

Children may use their phones between 19:00 PM and 20:00 PM. If they don't have a cell phone, a contact number will be provided at the start of the camp. The coordinator will be the parents' point of contact for the remainder of the camp.

Before the camp starts, Roda Viva sends an information package with all the important details.

On the registration form, indicate whether the child has any dietary restrictions or medical recommendations.

It is not advisable to carry valuables.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Cancellations made up to 60 days before the start of the shift will receive a full refund. Cancellations made between 60 and 30 days before the start of the shift will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made less than 30 days before the start of the shift will not be eligible for a refund.

How does food work at the holiday camp?
All meals are included at the camp, including breakfast, lunch, a snack, and dinner. Additionally, when activities warrant, a small mid-morning snack and supper are provided before bed. Dinner is included on arrival days, as is breakfast on departure days. The menu is carefully prepared, with a selection of quality foods that meet the requirements of a healthy and balanced diet, prioritizing local and national products. To ensure complete food safety, Roda Viva's organization follows all HACCP standards.
What about children with food intolerances?
The organization has acquired expertise in the area of ​​food intolerances, particularly celiac disease, lactose intolerance, and diabetes. Participants with dietary restrictions must indicate this at the time of registration.
What medical care is provided during the summer camp?
Training for monitors and coordinators includes a mandatory First Aid course, which allows them to respond to minor situations. Non-prescription medications are only permitted if consented to by the parents/guardians on the registration form. At the parents' request, Roda Viva is responsible for administering any medications they bring. Information regarding medication intake (including schedule and dosage) must be included on the registration form and delivered in person to the coordinator on the first day of camp. This information is confidential, and medication administration will be conducted discreetly. For situations that may require medical attention, there is a health center 4 km from the Summer Camp (USF Colares) and Cascais Hospital 17 km away. In these cases, parents/guardians will be informed immediately.
