At this bilingual holiday camp in Setúbal, children will discover the Arrábida Natural Park during the summer.
At the holiday camp in Setúbal, children and young people can expect many friendships and adventures in the Arrábida Natural Park. The holiday camp runs weekly from June 21st to September 5th, 2026, and offers complete freedom: children and teenagers are in an environment with trees and animals, without any distractions other than what nature has to offer. This holiday camp is for participants aged 6 to 17.
The summer camp in Arrabida Natural Park It's bilingual (English and Portuguese). Children can practice both languages informally through interaction, challenges, and fun activities! The best of both worlds – learning and fun – in a single summer camp.
Participants can choose one of the following options:
- Residential regimeThe children and young people stay at the holiday camp for the entire week, experiencing the full holiday camp experience.
- Non-residential regime: Participants carry out the scheduled activities between 9:00 AM and 18:30 PM, but return home for dinner and sleep.

The holiday camp is located in Azeitão, in the Setúbal district, in full contact with nature. Arrabida Natural Park.

The YMCA park has countless activities to do, including environmental education, contact with nature, and amazing adventures in the Serra Arrábida National Park, as well as activities outside the park!

There are also activities outside the park:
- A trip to Portinho da Arrábida beach, considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe.
- Adventure Routes: Brecha da Arrábida and other emblematic points of the Natural Park.
- In one week, participants go rock climbing in the Rift. In Arrábida, and in the other, they conduct an Adventure Circuit on a trail inside a cave.
- Marine Park: Dive into nature by kayak, coaster, or SUP (stand-up paddleboard).
- Discover the Cultural Heritage of the surrounding area: An opportunity to learn more about the Setúbal Region.

Thanks to the presence of foreign instructors who do not speak Portuguese, participants are encouraged to step outside their comfort zone and develop confidence in communication. This approach promotes not only language improvement but also multicultural interaction and personal growth.

Timetables
Field schedule for the no-stay option:
- At Campo Aberto, the children arrive at the field at 9:00 AM and return home at 18:30 PM.
Field schedule for the option with accommodation:
- In the Closed Camp, the children sleep at the YMCA Camp Alambre.
- 8:00 wake up – 23:00 go to bed.
- Check-in takes place between 15:30 PM and 16:00 PM.
- Check-out is until 11:00 AM.
Accommodation at the Holiday Camp in Setúbal
Accommodation is optional.
At the holiday camp in Setúbal, participants stay in a campsite. The plastic canvas tents are equipped with bunk beds, power outlets, and lights to ensure a restful night's sleep, allowing participants to recharge after a day full of adventures and memories!
The tents are separated into female and male sections, located in a reserved area, with bathrooms and changing rooms next to the sleeping area.
Food
The dining area is a 5-minute walk from the field, so there's no need to leave the field.
- Breakfast: An explosion of flavors: a selection of fresh fruits, crunchy cereals, milk, breads, refreshing plant-based drinks, and super creamy yogurt! A perfect combination to energize your day.
- Lunch: A truly unique experience tailored to the demands of the day! On special occasions, we offer a buffet lunch, allowing you to make the most of everything Arrábida has to offer. Delight in incredible meals while enjoying the breathtaking beauty all around you!
- Dinner: Back to tranquility, all the friends reunited in perfect harmony with nature! Ready to wrap up the day's activities.
- Supper: The last meal of the day!
Throughout the day, the team of monitors distributes snacks and water.
Transportation
Transportation to the holiday camp in Portinho da Arrábida is the responsibility of the parents/guardians.
