A unique summer camp dedicated to creativity, exploring the city, art, and expression, designed for children aged 7 to 16.

A unique, creative, and dynamic summer camp taking place in Lisbon during the month of July. Held at the Lugar Específico cultural center in Penha de França, it welcomes children and young people aged 6 to 16 for weeks filled with experiences of the city, art, theatre, movement, and photography.

During the morning, the group sets off to discover Lisbon. Streets, gardens, museums, and unique spaces become the starting point for careful observation, questioning our surroundings, and gathering inspiration for moments of creation.

In the afternoon, the focus shifts to artistic experimentation, involving the body, hands, and imagination. Each week explores different areas, such as creative painting, theater and movement, or experimental photography, always with space to test ideas, explore materials, and create freely, without fear of making mistakes.

This is an ideal option for curious children who want to explore, invent, and experience their holidays in a more creative and unconventional way. Spaces are limited, so early registration is recommended.

Why participate in this holiday camp in Lisbon?

These creative holidays are a light and inspiring way to encourage children to see Lisbon with fresh eyes. Instead of spending their days in the same place, they explore the city, observe their surroundings, gather ideas, and transform these experiences into artistic creations.

Throughout the activities, there is room for painting, acting, exploring movement, playing with light and shadow, creating images, and working together. Each week has a distinct theme, allowing each child to choose what interests them most or to participate again to discover new approaches.

More than just producing final projects, this field fosters the development of confidence, autonomy, imagination, and a willingness to experiment. For many children, it is also an opportunity to break out of routine and realize that creativity is built and developed through practice.

Program

The program combines morning city tours with creative workshops in the studio during the afternoon. Each week has a different theme, so the child can choose the area that most appeals to them or repeat the experience with new discoveries.

Creative Painting Week | The Colors of Emotions | with Sandra Shuu and Carolina Brissos | WEEK 1 + 4 MORNINGS | URBAN IMMERSION
This week the children will explore the city in search of unexpected colors, textures, surfaces, and materials. Each place becomes a source of inspiration for observation, gathering ideas, and discovering new ways of looking at the world.

Visits: Feira da Ladra (Thieves' Market); Alameda Illuminated Fountain; Urban Drift; Penha de França Library; Biolab

AFTERNOONS | PAINTING AND ABSTRACT ART
Back in the studio, we transformed observations, emotions, and memories into painting experiences. We explored color as a language, experimented with unconventional materials, and discovered that an image can be born from a gesture, a stain, or a feeling. Between large formats, natural pigments, and collective paintings, each child found unique ways to create.

The children will experiment with: Abstract and gestural painting; Large formats; Collective painting; Natural pigments; Textures and printing; Experimental paints.

WEEK OF BODIES AND EXPRESSIONS | THE BODY THAT CREATES | with Sandra Shuu and Carolina Lobão | WEEK 2 + 5 MORNINGS | URBAN IMMERSION
This week we will observe bodies, sculptures, gestures, and movements present in the city. We will discover how artists, architects, and creators use the body to communicate ideas, emotions, and stories.

Visits: Plaster House (Military Museum); Bordalo Pinheiro Museum; Urban Drift; Alameda Illuminated Fountain; Culturgest

AFTERNOONS | THEATRE, MOVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE
The studio transforms into a space for play, experimentation, and collective creation. Through movement, voice, improvisation, and character building, we explore different forms of expression and communication. We will discover how a gesture can tell a story and how the body can become artistic material.
The children will experience: Theatrical games; Improvisation; Creative movement; Character creation; Physical theatre; Performance; Collective storytelling.

PHOTOGRAPHY WEEK | DRAWING WITH THE SUN | with Sandra Shuu and Mariana Lacasta | WEEK 3
MORNINGS | URBAN IMMERSION
This week we trained our gaze. We explored the city through light, shadows, framing, and details that often go unnoticed, discovering different ways to construct images and visual narratives.

Visits: Alameda Fountain of Light; Secret Garden of Alto de São João; Urban Drift: Light, Shadows and Skyline; Gulbenkian Foundation; Culturgest

AFTERNOONS | EXPERIMENTAL PHOTOGRAPHY AND NATURAL PROCESSES
Let's discover that photography can exist without digital cameras and screens. Through light, time, plants, and natural materials, we experiment with artisanal processes that reveal images in surprising ways. Between science, nature, and artistic creation, each experience opens new possibilities for seeing and recording the world.
Let's experiment: Pinhole camera; Anthotype; Phytotype; Botanical printing; Natural inks; Cameraless photography; Solar printing

Re.age: the door is a passage
MORNINGS
Week 3: July 13-17.
PAINTING THE SPECIFIC DOOR: THE SPACE BETWEEN | | with Patricia Freire

A door is a place of passage, encounter, and discovery. In this workshop, young people will be invited to imagine and create, together, a painting for the door and the window of Lugar Específico, bringing together their ideas, visions, and ways of looking at the world.
Starting from the meaning of this space and what happens here through art, education, and human relationships, we will construct a collective image that connects the exterior to the interior, the street to the creative space, those who pass by to those who enter. More than decorating an entrance, this is an opportunity to leave a mark, contribute to the identity of the place, and transform a door into an invitation to curiosity, imagination, and encounter.
