This is a unique opportunity for children to explore experiences outside their everyday lives, make new friends, and enjoy days outdoors in a safe environment through games, fun and experimental activities, and, above all, lots of free play.

Why participate in the Holiday Camp in Tomar?

At this summer camp, children will have the opportunity to interact directly with farm animals, explore nature with activities such as mud cooking, dancing, painting, and art using natural elements, and develop manual skills with various tools. They will also learn cooking, experiment with solar cooking, go on forest hikes, and participate in guided explorations of the local fauna and flora.

The program also includes a visit to the farm's apiary, a rowboat ride on the reservoir, a swim in the biological pool, and nighttime activities that spark curiosity and connect with the natural environment.

All experiences are developed based on the principles and practices of Waldorf and Forest School pedagogy, offering a summer rich in discovery, creativity and connection with nature.

Prices for Holiday Camps in Tomar 2025

The summer camp in Tomar offers the following options for participating in the program:

• One week (daily program): €160
• One week (with accommodation): €288

There is also a 30-minute extension option in the morning (€5 per day) and in the afternoon (€5 per day).

Confirmation of participation in the Vacation program will depend on the existence of a certain number of registrants.

Accommodation at the Holiday Camp in Tomar

There is the possibility of spending the night in a comfortable natural cotton teepee, in a tent brought by the child or in a small wooden bungalow.

Working Hours

The program will run from 9:00 a.m. to 17:00 p.m. (with a grace period of 17:15 p.m.), and guests can spend the night in a comfortable natural cotton teepee (or a tent brought by the child) or in a small wooden bungalow. The food will be organic and vegetarian.

If you wish to “drop off” or “pick up” your student 30 minutes before the start, from 08:30 am or 30 minutes after the end of the activities, until 17:45 pm, it is possible at an additional cost.

The food at this forest camp is 100% organic and vegetarian. Includes a fruit snack (mid-morning), vegetarian lunch (soup, main course, nuts, drink), and afternoon tea.

Transportation

There's a transportation option from Lisbon to Tomar the day before the start of your desired Eco Vacation week and vice versa, by train, with one of the organizers. Then, a van taxi from Tomar will take you to the summer camp location. You can indicate your interest in this transportation service in advance.

What you need to bring to the Holiday Camp in Tomar?

Children will be outdoors at all times, regardless of the weather. Therefore, each child must be dressed in comfortable, seasonally appropriate clothing. All items must be labeled.

Essentials:

• Hat;
• Non-disposable, identified water bottle;
• Layers of clothing, appropriate to the time of year, and which allow the child to easily, if necessary, remove excess clothing
• Swimsuit/swimming trunks + towel;
• Sunscreen
• Sandals for walking on the river
• Change of clothes;
• Comfortable shoes;
• Toothbrush + ecological toothpaste + cup;
• Hand towel
• Cloth napkin;
• Waterproof clothing and footwear if there are heavy clouds;

Additionally, children staying overnight should bring:

• Tent (not mandatory)
• Sleeping bag + mattress roll;
• Flashlight;
• Change of clothes;
• Warm clothing (long-sleeved sweater or jacket);
• Hygiene items;
• Favorite pillow;
• Slippers.
